Leadership styles and group development
At the end of this week, I told myself to make a commitment to becoming a better leader overall for futter endeavors being for professional development or personal development. Reading about leadership styles and group development was very interesting to me and I found the group project to be very fun and a great opportunity. I came up with some ideas about improving my overall leadership beginning with identifying which of the four styles I default to most and understanding that some styles can serve me well in certain situations and others can create friction in group development. Being able to adapt your style to the context or situation at hand is crucial for a leader consider at a high-stake moment being able to identify that a directive approach can help set clear priorities, timelines, and reduce panic. Or A situation where your team is stressed leaning towards a more supportive style to help check in one on one and acknowledge worries or anxieties. This understanding will help me professionally and personally I look forward to leading my own team of engineers and creating better relationships with friends and peers alike. I want to be able to join more group projects and continue learning about group dynamics I believe it's important skill everyone should have and learn about especially when it comes down to being a good leader.
